Date: Aug 21, 2010 Message: As a former U.S. Air Force Security Specialist (SAC) '80-'84, I find it my duty to try and locate the soldier who dropped their "Commemorative Medallion" at River Ridge golf course here in Eugene. It was found on 8/21/10. It must mean a lot to someone. It is from Operation Iraqi Freedom 2004-2006, for the 170 Military Police Company, known as the "Dragon Slayers". If anybody has lost one or knows someone who has, please call River Ridge golf course at (541) 345-9160. They have my contact information. For who ever reads this, please pass along this message and lets all try to return this medallion to its rightful owner. "God Speed" to all our soldiers.

 

MPA Guestbook Entry # 1377 Name: Mary Shropshire Lourigan Location: Quy Nhon VN Date: Aug 17, 2010 Message: My father, MSgt Roy Shropshire, was in Quy Nhn (not sure if spelling is correct)from Dev 1970 - Dec 1971. He received a Bronze Star during this tour. Paperwork with the medal stated there were several MPs to receive a Bronze Star, would like to here from some of these "other" MPs for more background surrounding the occurence that resulted in this award. My mother was not even aware he had gotten this medal. Dad came down with alzheimers in 2000 and died in 2003. Even till the end he would not talk about Vietnam. Thanks.

MPA Guestbook Entry # 1373 Name: Monica Williamson Location: Wadesboro, NC Date: Aug 15, 2010 Message: My father, Charles Shephard Hildreth from Wadesboro (Lilesville), North Carolina was in the 505th Military Police Battalion in Salzburg, Austria in 1946. Does anyone remember him or have pictures of that MP Co. to share? Thanks for any info. I have his pictures, but are mostly of sites in Austria and not people. One far off shot shows a group crossing a bridge into Salzburg, Austria in 1946 when there was snow on the ground. Probably would not recognize a face...only equipment and vehicles.
